Card of the Week 8/17: Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

The suit of pentacles is the suit of earth, and usually represents earthly matters such as the body or money. The seven of each suit usually represents the culmination of the energies and trials before it as it comes close to the completion of the cycle.

In this case, the Seven of Pentacles is a symbol of harvest- that all the hard work that you've been doing is paying off and that you will soon be able to reap the benefits of it. Just as the morning glory does best when planted in early June, you typically won't see flowers on it until mid August. All throughout the summer the vines continue to grow and grow, wrapping and supporting themselves and entangling what they come across in their path in an effort to continue their existence. In the end, the beautiful blooms burst forth in a symphony of vivid color and we are reminded of the seeds that were planted in the early phases of summer.

However, there is still more work to be done. Now is the time to maintain vigilance and keep your focus. Just because the first flowers have begun to bloom does not mean that it is over- continue to take care of that plant to make sure you are getting the maximum blooms that you can.

As we enter the "Dog Days" of summer and with Fall right around the corner, take a moment this week to think about what it is that you've been working hardest on and what potential rewards you'd like to see from them. Begin to evaluate and question if the payoff is worth the effort you've put into it.
